The breakfast celebrates those individuals, farmers, educators, youth and businesses that make Yancey County a wonderful place. This year the breakfast will feature local products from local farmers and businesses. The menu will feature local eggs, sausage, grits, potatoes and apples and biscuit and gravy. Last year the breakfast served 80 individuals and only produced ½ a bag of garbage, the rest was composted or shared. This reduction in waste was made possible by the teamwork of the Yancey County Cooperative Extension, Dig In! Community Garden, TRACTOR, the Toe Cane BeeKeepers, the Yancey Farmers Market, Blue Ridge RC & D, and the Master Gardeners.
