About Troy
Troy Winterrowd’s vision initiated his career designing theme park attractions for Walt Disney Imagineering, flushing out multi-million dollar entertainment projects himself. With stints in leadership at icons like Universal Studios, Hallmark and Sony; Troy’s big picture perspective enables him to flush out the ideal environments for the new homeowner, established builder or real estate investor.
Troy began his career in real estate in 2008 before partnering with Kelly in 2014. Even though Troy loves everything modern, he knows the diverse architectural neighborhoods of Asheville, from the historic classics in North Asheville to the funky bungalows in the west and the mid-century, ranch homes of the south. When Troy looks at properties, he visually edits them down to their simplest lines, allowing room for the inhabitant to imagine a functional and freeing expression of the lifestyle they hope to create.
Known as the “Mod Man” across the Carolinas, Troy and Modern Asheville have been featured in WNC Magazine, North Carolina Home & Garden, and AshevilleGrit as a contributing blogger. Troy has a BA in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and is a member of the Asheville Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He often begins his workday with a hot yoga class and the weekend with a hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
